the details –

* luxurious silk dyed by hand in small batches using botanicals harvested from my garden and locally around the Berkshires (exceptions noted)

the dyeing process -

each scarf is dyed by hand through a direct contact method and steamed for several hours. each scarf is unique and unable to be recreated

 

the printing process -

many scarves feature a block printed botanical design  - to create a block print, I draw then carve my design into a sheet of linoleum. the block is then inked and printed by hand. the inks are all environmentally friendly.
