hand dyed using red cabbage, producing a light blue

printed pattern - wild aster

about the dye plant -

red cabbage –

I love red cabbage. Not to eat, or to smell, but the color it produces is so luxurious! You can get anywhere from a blue green to a blue-violet. I have noticed, when I include the green-y leaves along with the red, I achieve a green tone. Cabbage is by far my favorite plant – I’m a sucker for a neutral blue.
