learn to preserve the abundance of summer in a textile. follow along virtually and learn two traditional natural dyeing techniques - bundle dyeing and hapa-zome printing with professional natural dyer, Mallorey Caron, and flower farmer, Lena Voghel. 

 

actively participate with a dye kit we provide or join the class as a viewer only. participants are encouraged to forage for flowers & plants they are interested in experimenting with.

what you’ll need to actively participate:

- a pot with handles and cover (can no longer be used for food - some dye plants are poisonous and not safe for consumption. Goodwill has old pots you can use for this project) 

- cheesecloth

- a hammer or flat rock 

- stove / sink 

- twine or any kind of undyed string

- feel free to forage in addition to the flowers provided 

- surface you can hammer on, cutting mat recommended 

- plastic tablecloth recommended to cover working surface
